Fredericksburg, Virginia Wedding Photographer, Geek Green Lantern Cosplay Inspired Wedding Brocks Ri
I had the honor and privilege to witness the bonding of two hearts- Allyson and Mike recently at Brocks Riverside Grille in Fredericksburg. I have never seen such a love-filled and fun-filled wedding.
Mike and Allyson met each other at college where Mike was playing video games (Metro Prime to be exact) in the hallway, and "AJ' asked to play and invited him to dinner.
They have been inseparable every since. Often cosplaying, acting in local theater productions, playing Magic, Dungeons and Dragons or other board games together.
The night was riddled with movie quotes, geek references and Broadway show tunes music. At the end of their vows, the officiant asked them, "Will you love each other to infinity and beyond?" and of course they both answered with a resounding "yes!" Even the father of the bride toast at the end of the night said "In closing, Live long and prosper!"
When I asked Allyson why she chose the colors blue and green together, she gave a very interesting response: because of Green Lantern. I asked her why. And of course, not being a Green lantern fanatic, I didn't understand her explanation, so I did some research when I got home.
When I was able to look up the reason for the colors, it was the sweetest thing I've ever read:
"The Blue Lantern Power Rings were crafted to draw their energies from Blue Power Batteries and were fueled by hope... The primary function of any Blue Lantern Ring is the capacity to re-energize and supercharge the powers of a Green Lantern ring, for just as a green ring enables a blue ring to use its fullest functions a blue ring can augment the powers of a green one." http://greenlantern.wikia.com
So basically, the blue ring symbolizes hope, just as a marriage ring represents. The blue ring supercharges the power of the Green lantern ring. They are inseparable- coexisting for eachother and unable to function without one another.
Allyson and Mike are now entering a beautiful new phase of their lives, where they were meant for each other co-exist for each other. They help each other use their gifts and abilities to their fullest power.
Congrats Allyson and Mike and "Live Long and Prosper!"
