What’s your excuse for not owning a business?
.
When I was in grad school I remember reading the newspaper about a fellow student. He had pretty much figured out that by the time you got to college that
one: he needed a job to provide for himself to pay for college and
.
two: a lot of his local roommates and dorm mates had no idea how to do laundry, nor the time to do it.
.
So he came up with this genius idea.
For five to $10 a load depending on the size of the load, he would go door-to-door and collect peoples laundry and take it to the local laundromat. Then you would fold it, iron it (if they paid extra) and delivered it back to their dorm.
All they had was a few slips of paper print it off at the local computer lab with his name and information to call him to set up a laundry pick up..
.
Within a few years he was already entrepreneur of the year and had 10 employees under him..
.
Not only was he able to pay his entire way through school through this business but also several other employees’ tuition.
.

.
This kid did not worry about his website being together, how much capital he had in the bank, what resources he needed, his education or degree, or anything else to hold him back.
.
.
.
.
He just started with what he had.
.
.
.
That’s an encouragement for you today.
.
What idea do you have in your head, and how much work and hustle is it going to take to make it happen?
.
.
It is so cheap in the state of Virginia to start a business- under $200 you can get an LLC and go to the local City Hall and get a business license.
.
I’ve been running a media business for the last eight years without a building, without any advertising budget, without a large amount of capital, without investors, without debt, and without education … now we are projecting to hit six figures very soon.
.
.
I’ve been able to stay home with my three kids and homeschool them and not have to pay one cent in childcare! .
.
.
It didn’t take a fancy website, it didn’t take thousands of dollars worth of advertising and marketing, all it took was hard work, person-to-person referrals, sacrifice, and creativity.
..
Research is free: talk to CEOs and business owners in your local area and sit down with him and talk about strategy. Use the local library, peoples homes, peoples garages, local businesses and other rental facilities to do business.
Get mentors around you to answer questions and feel encouraged! .
